What is Virtual Schooling?
Virtual courses typically include:
- Online Resources: Students are given an account for access to online resources that include media, video, and text explanations.
- Online Support: Teachers supply office hours where they are available in an online chatting environment to assist students.
- Evaluation: Students take exams at designated testing sites.
- Communication: Depending on the course layout, a teacher may make use of calendars, discussion boards, surveys, and chatrooms that are built into the online resource system.
In some cases, a virtual student works out a pacing agreement with their teacher. Once goals are set, students must manage their time to meet these arranged goals.
Online education isn't for everyone. It requires plenty of discipline. Although the flexibility of this format is wonderful for strongly motivated students, it is this same flexibility that causes ruin for others. Don't waste your valuable time - seriously consider whether online education would work well for you!
