How To

A Student's Registration Steps :
Step 1: The student registers at www.eSchoolBC.com > student registration. Each applicant receives an automatic welcome e-mail confirming registration and providing some information about the program.
Step 2: The student's local Intervention Teacher regularly checks the list, looking for new applicants from their local school. For each new applicant, they consider whether it is an appropriate application (checking "reg" in the SMS* if approved).
Step 3: The student's Course Teacher (subject specialist) regularly checks their student list on the SMS, watching for new approved students coming into their course. For each new student, they contact the student and request the activation assignment. When a course teacher recieves a completed activation assignment, they provide a grade and feedback in Moodle for the student to review (then check “assign” and “contact” in the SMS).
Step 4: The Course Teacher provides account information (from SMS) so that the student can continue their course within Moodle. This is often the last "e-mail" sent to the student, as all future e-communcation and submissions can be done in Moodle.
Step 5: If the student chooses a course that requires a textbook, they will typically get them from their local Intervention Teacher. Students from outside of School District #23 can either borrow their book locally or request a textbook loan through Central (toll free# 1-877-871-1135). If borrowed from Central, a textbook deposit is required (returned upon return of the text).
Step 6: The Course Teacher manages the teaching, monitoring, and reporting on the student for the remainder of the course. The Intervention Teacher assists with exams and support of their local students. A steady flow of communcation between Course Teacher and Intervention Teacher through the "Student Contact Log" supports the student's success through the course.

HOW TO: Get a Textbook
If your course requires a textbook and you are from Kelowna you should check with your Intervention teacher to see if you can get the book at your school. If the book is not available from your school, you can drop by Central to borrow a book. A textbook deposit will be required (returned upon return of the textbook).
If your course requires a textbook and you are not from Kelowna, you can see if your local school or library will lend you the book. Otherwise, you can have one sent out from Central school by requesting it and providing a deposit (returned upon return of textbook). Phone Toll Free #1-877-871-1135.
HOW TO: Do a Test
If you are from Kelowna, you would do a test with your school's Intervention Teachers (see "Staff and Contact Info" button on the right).
If you are not from Kelowna, you need to organize a manager for your exams. This could be a teacher at a local school, a librarian, a college instructor.... Once you find someone who agrees to manage your exams, have them e-mail your course teacher with their official e-mail account. The teacher will respond to appropriate requests with the required information.
HOW TO: Enroll in Another Course
Once you've enrolled into one course, you have an eSchoolBC account. Do NOT try to complete a registration form again, as you already have an account and the system won't accept another for the same person. If you want to be enrolled into additional courses, you need to to contact Central or your local Intervention teacher.
